Summer Classes

I enrolled my daughter in a summer class to prepare her for regular classes come June. The thought of going to school really excite my daughter even weeks before the opening of her summer classes. This morning was the first day of their summer classes. I was surprised at my daughter’s behavior inside the classroom. She participated and even volunteered in the different activities. It was more surprising for me when she corrected her teacher who misspelled her name.

Beyond LAMP

02122008841 My LAMP (Land Administration and Management Project) days are over, three years ago. But my “memory” with them and vice versa isn’t over yet. The LAMP pamphlet came to me as a surprise, a big surprise for that matter. My photo is in the LAMP pamphlet! Oh, yeah, it’s definitely me. I actually don’t remember anymore who took that picture and where was it taken. But anyway, it doesn’t matter to me anymore. What matters now is that I have contributed something to the organization while I was still their employee.

Cellphone Clues of a Philandering Husband

This is a collation of some of the wives’ tales of how their husbands managed to keep for long an illicit relationship with their paramours.  As usual and as expected, the wife is always the last person to know about his husband’s philandering activities, painful but true!

Illicit romantic relationships are easier developed nowadays than during the time of Magellan. Gone are the days when the lovers would meet at the house of Maria at seven o’clock in the evening on Wednesdays and Fridays. With the advent of technological advances, illicit relationship is simply done in the web through e-mail or chat, and cellphone (through call or text message). Prohibited romance is easier concealed and, sometimes, easier discovered. Most often, the cheated wife’s source of information about his husband’s illegal activities comes from the latter’s own actions and gadgets, or should I say, the woman’s gut feel. Majority of the wives whom I talked with never confronted immediately their husbands when they heard or found out about the latter’s infidelity, they waited until they become armed with evidences to substantiate their accusation against their unfaithful husbands. As expected again, husbands attempted to deny everything even if the evidences were obvious, glaring and convincingly apparent.

How these husband’s adulterous activities were discovered by their wives were due to the former’s unnatural actions and irreverent behavior. If a wife is wary of their husbands to be two-timing – or perhaps ‘multi-timing’, then these cellfone signs might help her confirm, affirm or verify any illegal activities of his husband.

  1. His mobile phone is most of the time turned into SILENT mode. It is in the silent mode – but the vibrating key is turned on – when he is at home, but when he is at the office or somewhere else – not within his wife’s perimeter to be particular – it is the LOUD mode.
  2. The name registered in his mobile phone is usually named after his male boss. When the wife asks who called up or sent a message, the name of his superior appears.
  3. He goes to the comfort room most often or spends long hours in the rest room. When his cellfone vibrates, he immediately run to the comfort room to discreetly read the message or take the call. A wife noticed his husband’s frequent visit to the comfort room but never heard a single toilet bowl flush after using it. Every time she checks the water in the tank, it’s always full.
  4. He gets furious whenever you read his messages. It is not okay for him to read his messages but not vice versa.
  5. He becomes suspicious of you. He will always ask you who called up or who sent you the text message, or will ask “who’s cellphone number is this?”
  6. When you call him through his office landline telephone, he is either out of the office or on travel, but when you call him through his cellphone, he is ‘unreachable’ or ‘not obtainable’. When asked why his cellphone can’t be reached, he will say that he was just busy with lots of office work. When he has an out of town travel, he will not invite you to come. His reason? It’s an office-related activity. But, be cautious, his lover is allowed to follow him and it necessary follow that it’s he who shoulders all the expenses – airfare, accommodation, meals and miscellaneous.

Mama Mary and My Mother

This article is actually a re-post from my other blog. I have written this on October 30, 2008. I am re-posting to honor my mother on Mother’s Day.

Today is the birthday of Mama Mary, the mother of Our Saviour Jesus Christ. The readings and gospel today never mentioned anything about the birth or the celebration of her birthday. But the whole Catholic Church is celebrating her birthday this day and I am not in the position to neither question the real date of her birth nor dig the roots as to who really knows when Mama Mary was born. My strong Catholic devotion assumes the sacredness of the Church teachings that questioning the truthfulness or falsity of what was taught in my religion class is out of my mind.

Unlike the other feasts celebrated in the Catholic Church, Mama Mary’s birthday need not be celebrated with a grandiose party –  contrary to my three-year old nephew’s belief that they should buy a cake, sing a birthday song and then make a wish before the candle is blown for Mama Mary’s birthday. My two sisters, niece, daughter and I celebrated her birthday in an extraordinary way, that is, by visiting my mother’s gravesite – weird but meaningful.

Our mother may not have been like Mama Mary- in fact different in all aspects, but her sacrifices in raising raise her seven children is nothing more like to what Mama Mary went through. My mother endured relentlessly to give us all our needs, although we were not provided with all our wants, and had to sacrifice and forego her own material desires just to provide the necessities of her seven growing children. The virtues instilled and the values formed in our young minds were greatly credited to the disciplinary psyche of our mother who wished us all to be good persons. The image of Mama Mary constantly reminds me of the agonies, sacrifices, and hurts suffered by my strong-willed mother who, despite of it all, never showed her emotional distress to her children. The problems she encountered while battling the difficult life of raising a big family made her stronger and more mature. Every inch of complicated situation was faced with much dignity that made her stand tall with head high up, and such gave her the strength to face-off whatever problems that came her way. Her might was tested in the battlefield for many times and had won many of those including the most difficult battles of all, that is, having saved her own matrimony which was once had been attempted to be destroyed by a woman’s evil mind. Our mother’s ability to be triumphant over life’s complicatedness significantly enriched our minds not to be afraid of whatever tribulations that will come our way.

Revisiting and updating this Blog

If not for the message I have received from an old dear friend, this blog would have totally been buried six feet under my dementiac memory. Blame it on my poor memory recall that I have almost have forgotten this blog.   ..***wink****No other excuses this time except that oh so bad memory . .. .

While reading my articles, many new and bright ideas suddenly popped up my brain. They are all nice pieces to talk about here. This gives me more excitement to write again, and even to rehash my writing style . This blog needs much more improvement and I do hope that I will be able to write better articles.
